SnowDEM is a distributed physically based energy balance model for application to snow and glacier covered mountain regions. It is fed with data from an automatic weather station on the glacier and computes hourly energy fluxes of :
The model assumes a daily lapse rate for temperatures within the glacier boundary layer and a different one for temperatures outside the glacier. It implements a simple scheme for snow surface temperature calculation and it will allow data assimilation for the correction of modelled albedo, snow depth and snow water equivalent.
